Pink Eye

Pinkeye, or conjunctivitis, is the inflammation of the clear membrane covering the front of the eye.

It can be triggered by viruses, bacteria, allergens, or irritants and may affect one or both eyes. When caused by bacteria or viruses, it spreads easily from person to person and between eyes. Though uncomfortable, conjunctivitis often clears up on its own or once the underlying irritant or allergen is removed.
